Traded for an ending like this.

Welcome to
Club Oldies, Lynette.
And oh, Happy Nineteenth, by the way.
I suppose as you grow older, you expect less of a birthday, but just another ordinary day. And they become formal events, tending towards either dinner, drinks, or just basically, chill.
Pardon me, but this is the extreme case of morbidity, I mean, this whole thing about birthdays. "Happy Birthday to You" just sound so cliche, to the extent it gives me goosebumps. Otherwise, I'm so immune to having birthdays just pass me by, and that I've no idea how to react when people sing "Happy Birthday". So I just sit there and stun, literally. Because I wonder who is as lyrical a whore as Thee, to decipher every word, and if they meant "Happy" in every verse of "Happy Birthday to You". Perhaps, maybe not.
Anyway, what's so happy about birthdays? That you're older by a year, another year of maturity bestowed onto you, nonetheless? Yea, go be proud of that, will you?
But I sincerely love how I acknowledged the fact, that the many years of growing up, those who remembered are the ones who saw me through every year of birthdays, despite most of them being celebrated in camps, but hey, where's the fun without the wild, no? And they, they were all there, and they are always going to be there.
Except one, who left last July.
The Wind Blows ; The All-American Rejects
I've got to breathe
You can't take that from me
Cause it's all that you left that's mine
You had to leave
And that's all I can see
But you told me your love was blind
There are times
You're so impossible that I should sign a waiver
And you will find
Someone worth walking on when you ask me to go
(Chorus)
I'll leave when the wind blows
Take a breath and there it goes
I'll be outside of your window
I'll pass by but I'll go slow
I'll leave when the wind blows
There was a day
You threw our love away
Then you passed it to someone new
You wanna stay
But since you wanna play
We can finally say we're through
There are times you're so impossible and you ask me to go
(Chorus)
I'll leave when the wind blows
Take a breath and there it goes
I'll be outside of your window
I'll pass by but I'll go slow
I'll leave when the wind blows
You can scream there's just echoes
Pass outside of your window
You'll be sad that you let me go
I'll leave but just know
As I lay in solitude
Oh, what's a boy supposed to do
I shake the very thought of you
Me together, I remember
Late nights when I stayed up late
All I do is wait and wait
You're never coming home to me
That's the hardest thing to see
I got to breathe
You can't take that from me
We can finally say we're through
(Chorus)
I'll leave when the wind blows
Take a breath and there it goes
I'll be outside of your window
I'll pass by but I'll go slow
I'll leave when the wind blows
You can scream there's just echoes
Pass outside of your window
You'll be sad that you let me go
On every face you'll ever know
And everywhere you ever go
You'll feel when the wind blows Sometimes, I wondered if I was seeing the same things through my eyes that the rest of the world was seeing through theirs. Maybe there was a glitch in my brain. Through your bedroom window, you look so sad at night. And I imagine that I am what you need, but realize that's crazy. See, all empty souls, they tend towards extreme opinions.
Now stop, you.
The essential old-mystic fallacy of the Acid Culture.
